When I returned to college in 2000, my first focus was on Adolescent Psychology. I thought that was the best way to largely impact the lives of our youth through their paths of self actualization and focus. It did not take long, however, for me to realize that the strongest link I could make towards positive change was through education. I had within myself a strong desire to lead students to their true voices. The best way for anyone to succeed is to recognize the truth in the fact that they can in fact do so, and I wanted to be one of the people to pave the way towards a more positive future. To teach hope is to spawn hope and I felt that I could do this best by teaching students how to properly express their ideas and thoughts through writing. “Be the change you want to see in the world,” Mahatma Gandhi.
I frequently participate in after school activities at the school, including tutoring, board meetings, committees, etc. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, reading, writing and camping.
